Easy Way to Prepare a Cooked Breakfast

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day and it is also one of the most difficult to prepare, as most moms will agree. There are plenty of bread recipe available but to come up with a new, tasty and nutritious dish to prepare every morning is not a simple task. Here is a simple sausage bread recipe that's healthy and simple to prepare.

What you'll need:

- Italian sausage - five hundred grams

- Italian bread - one loaf

- Beefsteak tomato - one

- Bell peppers, cut in strips - one cup

- Mozzarella cheese (cut in slices) - 4 cups

- Green olives (sliced) - 1/4 cup

- Sliced black olives - 1/4 cup

- Olive oil - half a cup

- Balsamic vinegar - quarter of a cup

- Dried oregano - quarter (1/4) tablespoon

- Dried basil - 1/4 tablespoon

- Salt - A pinch

- Ground black pepper - A pinch

- Onion (diced) - two (2) tablespoons

- Fresh diced garlic - 1 teaspoon

To prepare:

- Pre-heat the oven to 200 C.

- Crumble the sausage and simmer over a low heat until nicely browned. Remove from the heat, drain and put aside.

- Gently roast the sliced bell peppers then set aside to cool.

- Cut the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place it crust down on a baking sheet.

- Spread some of the crumbled sausage over each half of the bread and then top with sliced beefsteak tomatoes and roasted bell peppers.

- Decorate with the sliced mozzarella cheese and olives.

- Bake the bread in the oven for 10 minutes.

- Mix the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, diced onion and diced garlic in a bowl and whisk all the ingredients together.

- Drizzle over the baked bread and bake again for two minutes.

- Cut in thick slices and serve.

You can also use frozen bread dough to make the sausage bread. For this you will need:

- Frozen bread dough - 1


- Let the bread dough thaw overnight.

- Roll out the bread dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a clean surface using a rolling pin. Try to keep the thickness even.

- You can dust a little flour on the bread dough for smoother rolling. Take care to ensure that the dough isn't too thin otherwise it will not hold the filling.

- Crumble and cook the sausage and add roasted bell peppers to the mix as well as sliced tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, pepper, olives, balsamic vinegar and two tablespoons of olive oil. Mix all the ingredients well.

- Spread the ingredients on the rolled out bread dough and fold the bread into a sausage shape.

- Bake at 200C for approximately thirty to thirty-five minutes.

- Remove from the oven once the bread is nice and brown on the outside then cut in slices to serve.
